Community Storytellers and Writers Interest Form
Johns Hopkins University (JHU) SOURCE is partnering with
Transform MidAtlantic and
The Facing Project to gather stories on
Facing (In)Justice in Health in Baltimore, MD. The Facing Project is a national nonprofit that creates a more understanding and empathetic world through stories that inspire action. We are excited to lead this storytelling collaboration to foster meaningful connections and support emerging stories that highlight the context and challenges of health equity in our city.
To participate in this community project, storytellers and writers must be affiliated with a
SOURCE partnering (CBO) community-based organization (past or present staff, client/patient, or volunteer) or be a current student, staff, or faculty at JHU School of Nursing, School of Medicine, or Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Interested? Complete this interest form no later than Thursday, March 29th. Submissions are being reviewed on a rolling basis until all project roles are filled.
Currently we are seeking additional COMMUNITY STORYTELLERS.
By participating in Facing (In)Justice in Health community writing project, we hope to begin reflective dialogue around health disparities in Baltimore city—an issue that touches so many lives in our community yet is often not discussed beyond the numbers.
This project and discussion cannot happen without engaged storytellers and writers who are willing to volunteer their time to bring important stories to light, increasing a sense of meaning, purpose, and control over unjust experiences while providing opportunities for personal and professional growth and skill building. Project collaborators will agree to participate between March 2024 to June 2024.
So, to begin, please carefully read the role descriptions of Storytellers and Writers provided below.
